With some help from this guide, I have experimented with adding subtitles to my copy of Il était une fois... L'espace. I've only done a very quick check to see if I could make it work, and so far the result seems OK. The tricky part is doing the actual translation, which could take bloody forever — I understand most of what they're saying, but some parts would probably need to be done by others. If I could only find a transcription of the original dialogue, and someone to collaborate with...
I know for a fact that the entire series has been broadcast with Swedish subtitles, but I only have three of those episodes, and another seven dubbed. This leaves sixteen episodes that need to be translated from scratch. I need to find people with a good working knowledge of French and science fiction terminology, who are willing to do this for the sake of it.
And then, of course, I need to keep this as low-profile as possible so as not to attract unwanted attention from copyright holders. Maybe I could even get the Swedish copyright holders interested in the idea; if they see that there is a demand, they may start something professionally. That'd be nice. (As long as we don't have to hear that horrible Swedish dubbing, which is done from a sub-standard English dubbing. I wouldn't mind if it was included, but I would mind — very much — if it was the only one available.)

Jag är osäker på om Brita översätter från franska, men det skadar aldrig att fråga. Och hon om någon borde ha förslag på lämpliga medöversättare.
