What I do at the office

When I left for work this morning, [livejournal.com profile] thette tried to explain to Hulda what I do all day:

"Do you remember when we went to the USA and you couldn't understand what people were saying? That's what [livejournal.com profile] awahlbom does: he makes people understand!" [EDIT: Or maybe it was "...helps people understand". I confess I don't remember the exact wording.]

I'm not sure she managed to convey all the intricacies of technical translation and localisation, but it's a sweet and, for its target demographic, accurate description. :-)

Jag tror att jag och Therese höll på och diskuterade det där innan hon åkte. Men vi har fortfarande inte kommit på en bra och enkel beskrivning av vad hon kommer att göra på medicin- och allmänmedicinblocken.

Och Ghu vilket sladdrigt tangentbord som följde med den nya arbetsdatorn.

Det på min (fortfarande inte reparerade) bärbara Dell är helt OK – mycket bättre än det på min Fujitsu Siemens, vilket inte är så jäkla svårt – men de tangentbord jag provat till Dells stationär har aldrig varit lysande.

Med rätt ADB- till USB-adapter kan du kanske använda ett Nimitz även under Windows. ;-D

Det är snarare hur vi ska beskriva vad folk sysslar med i Hulda-termer. Kanske Michi gör folk förvirrade.

For the record, what I do:

During my six months of surgery: "Mommy takes care of people who are hurt" or "Mommy puts bandaids on people". (The latter proved more memorable.)

During the three months of psych: "Mommy talks to people who are sad."
