Man vänjer sig.

Back at my desk to fight the usual fight. I could have used another week, but I still feel rather OK after three well-deserved weeks off (even if I just wrote "credit card" as "cretin card"). I don't have the time right now to write a detailed report of my doings, but here is a brief summary:

First week:
Relaxing, trying to catch up with some missed sleep. Dinner with darnia on Wednesday. We made a deal that if she would ride her bike to work one morning, I would do the same (or at least to the nearest train station). And of course she did, so I had to as well.
Lunch with sunjan on Thursday. (Showed him a WDR documentary about German electronic music that I happened to have lying around on my laptop: a clip of Tangerine Dream from 1968, Organisation (i.e. the very first incarnation of Kraftwerk) playing a very early and even weirder version of "Ruckzuck", interviews with Klaus Dinger, Michael Rother, Eberhard Kranemann, Dieter Moebius, Hans-Joachim Roedelius, and Klaus Schulze, among other things.)
Spent the weekend at Conversation. fjm was an excellent choice of GoH. Lots of other folks around: jophan, jlms, darnia, krfsm, thette, kjn, hulda, hanspersson, dominicflandry, chilperic, and I'm probably forgetting one or two. My only complaint is not with the con itself, but with the ventilation — or, more to the point, lack thereof; other than that, I enjoyed myself immensely.

Second week:
My sister came to visit, and we spent four days going to museums (Medeltidsmuseet, Tre Kronor, the Royal Armoury (which is the way I prefer kings: in museums), Medelhavsmuseet, Fjärilshuset, Naturhistoriska riksmuseet, Aquaria, Vasamuseet, and Östasiatiska museet) and shopping, after which we went to Gävle together over the weekend to celebrate our brother's birthday.

Third week:
Went to the dentist on Monday morning and pulled another wisdom tooth, probably meaning I lost a third of my remaining wisdom, such as it may be. Will return next Wednesday to put a crown on the root canalled molar; that filling is starting to crack now and needs to be repaired. (I will need to ask about some kind of instalment plan; I have a feeling that this is going to be damned expensive.)
Hung out with thette, kjn, and hulda on Wednesday. Pleasant as always. (I like when cute girls are happy to see me, even if they're only four months old. I still haven't sussed out whether she's laughing with me or at me.) Learnt how to make strawberry sherbet — ridiculously simple, in fact; as soon as I get a stick blender I will start making it myself. Generally I should learn to cook more and better.
Did some serious housecleaning. I only have one drawer of unsorted papers left now (there were things left there since I moved to Alby five years ago!), and my kitchen is no longer deserving of the nickname "The Crawling Chaos". I feel productive for once, and should have done this ages ago, but as most of you know I've been busy working myself half to death.
And when I'm finished structuring my stuff I can finally think of moving closer to the job, but that's another story.
