Hi Mick,

I'm planning to get rid of them one way or another, but before I throw them
away I'm trying to give them a good home. I'm in the process of compiling a
list of all the hardware in my basement storage, but there's a *lot* to
catalogue in there.

To answer your question, I have four, possibly five, C64 machines of various
revisions (both brown and white), one VIC 20 and one Amstrad PCW 8256. One
broken C64 is already reserved for a friend in Uppsala (he's planning to
build a synthesizer around the SID chip), and I'm keeping at least one for
myself, but I have one or two to give away.

Off the top of my head I also have the following that I want to get rid of:

* Atari 600 XL (without tape or disk drive)
* Goldstar FC-200 (MSX, two copies, one of which has something wrong with
  the video output that makes all colours show as rather lurid shades of pink)
* Spectravideo SVI 728
* Kaypro 10 ("portable" CP/M machine from 1982, weight 13.5 kgs)
* assorted 68K Macs (mostly LC-range models, but also one or two Mac II-series
  machines)
* some old video games, at least one Atari 2600 and two Philips Videopac
* a couple of 8088/8086 PCs
* Luxor ABC 80 (legendary Swedish Z80-based system)
* Luxor ABC 800 (the "big brother" of the ABC 80)
...and some other unsorted stuff, some of which is working. You're welcome to
Alby some day if you want to rummage around!

Cheers,
Anders

So yes, things are moving. With [livejournal.com profile] thette's invaluable help (thank you once again, dear friend) and quite some effort of my own, the status of my kitchen has changed from near "health hazard" to "needs some quick cleaning but generally OK", my old brown sofa (which [livejournal.com profile] darnia left to me when she moved out) has gone to meet its ancestors, mourned by none, and we have thrown away lots and lots of old papers. My kitchen, living room and hall are almost presentable now. And if this Mick fellow (a former co-worker of my colleague Daniel) wants any of my old stuff, my basement will look all the better for it.

Oh, and if you want any of that junk, speak up. I'll give you a complete list when I have compiled one.

UPDATE:
Done today:
  • Cleaned out walk-in closet = space to put away my vacuum cleaner and ironing board.

  • Threw away old (unused and battered) cardboard boxes, an old plastic laundry bin and various broken pieces of computer equipment.

  • Tested three C64s; two in working condition, the third has power LED but no picture.

  • Talked to [livejournal.com profile] tuwr about his C64 (see comment). I will inspect it next time I am in Uppsala; if it has a better picture than the ones I already have I'll take it and get rid of the others.

  • Got a reply from Mick, who is rather interested in taking a look at my stuff. Whenever we can organise it.
So, some progress.

C64

Are there any people who actually want to use a Commodore 64 for something? I have a working one which have been unused for at least the last 10 years, and I rather doubt that I will connect it to anything within the next couple of decades.
It has a tape station, plus an original 1541 (without any cables, so I can't actually *use* any floppies. But still.) And a joystick. Somewhere I have a centronics interface for connecting a printer to it, too. It might only work with the STAR series of printers, I have recycled that range of brain cells.

Give me a call if you want it.

I've got an (AFAIK) working C64 with tape as well. Free to a good home who'll pick it up in the Netherlands, since I'm not going to bother packing it for shipping, unless compensation is involved.
