I am a bit divided on the issue. I don't mind being called uncommonly intelligent; on the other hand, being hailed as a genius¹ for knowing the basics of English spelling is very close to "damning with faint praise" and possibly says more about the others taking the test than about me.

¹I was about to write "the best thing since sliced bread", but since pre-sliced bread is for people who are not allowed to use knives I changed my mind. Incidentally, it's about the only thing you can find in my local supermarket. Except walnut bread, which I can't eat anyway.
