Ever since I started listening to Kraftwerk in 1989, I've been thinking about getting a synthesizer. So today I bought one, after only 16 years.
The MicroKORG is a rather nice little keyboard synthesizer, and seems well suited for a beginner like me. Unfortunately, I am not a good or even adequate keyboard player; the only keyboard where I have some kind of skill is the QWERTY one. Improving my playing or even getting it up to a useable level is one of my goals. Still, I can make weird noises with it, particularly with the built-in vocoder. This is really fun; I have found settings that sound very mean and daleky.
The minus point is that there is no built-in sequencer. Besides, I need to get a MIDI interface if I'm going to use it with a computer; it doesn't come with MIDI-to-USB or MIDI-to-joystick-port cables. Other than that, I really like it so far.
