So finally I gave in to temptation and visited Microdisko, as I thought the bands for tonight seemed interesting. Odd Music, who are playing as I write, are less entertaining than I hoped; we will have to see whether or not YMCK and Blasterhead are better.
I realise, much to my surprise, that people don't necessarily go to clubs like this because they're interested in the music, but just. because they generally feel like going out and pop into the first club they see. (And then they hang around complaining about the music and asking the DJ to play whatever is a hit this week...) That's not the way my mind works, obviously.
I remember why I don't go out a lot: too much people and noise and fucking cigarette smoke. Should be a VIP section for "people who are here for the music and not to get drunk/laid"... Well, YMCK should be on stage in 20 minutes.
This is what Odd Music look like:

LATER:
YMCK proved to be simply delightful: 50s/60s jazz-style songs performed on Nintendo Famicom game consoles and two Apple laptops. Incredibly cute! See for yourselves.

Blasterhead was one man alone with his Gameboy and some other electronics. This wasn't the first time I've seen musicians use a Gameboy (I saw Puss supporting Stereo Total last year), but unlike Puss, Akihiro Ito doesn't make pop songs but hard-hitting dance music. Works remarkable well in a live setting. Pity I had to catch the train and couldn't stay to see the whole set... I couldn't see him behind all the dancing people, so I didn't get any pictures either.
Oh, and I met an old friend from Gävle that I hadn't seen since 1990 or so.
So, pictures and a short video clip. And an overall rather nice evening.

I agree about the cigarette smoke (but it does help do drink...) and I could have told you that Microdisko isn't that much fun, even if it's a cool idea. Been there, done that. :) On the other hand, you and I don't share the same taste in music.

The other bands were much more fun. I'm updating stuff right now.
