Ten years ago yesterday, I jumped on the local train from Uppsala to Tierp. Now, Tierp is mostly known as "the place where the birds fly upside down so they won't have to look at the dump", and this reputation is not wholly unearned, but once upon a time they had a rather interesting record shop called LP-Fyndet. Apart from selling a lot by mail, they had a little shop in "central" Tierp, and that is where I went to go through their large selection of cutout LPs.

Whew. I came back with 40 LPs and 700 SEK less in my wallet. On that day, I bought some of my favourite albums:

• Human League: Reproduction and Travelogue
• Heaven 17: Penthouse And Pavement
• OMD: Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark and Dazzle Ships

...among other things. I think I also found the US version of Rupert Hine's The Wildest Wish To Fly that day, although I already had the European edition (the US version has a different sleeve, though).

Nine years ago yesterday, I moved out of my rented room into my little one-room flat in Uppsala. That was also the day Foetus played in Gävle.

Five years ago yesterday, I left work an hour early to go home and let Camilla R, with whom I was madly in love at the time, into my home to borrow a book. She stayed an hour, during which we listened to Black Celebration, drank Earl Grey and talked a lot. That was also the last time I saw her. Shortly thereafter, she decided to break all contact with me, also breaking my heart in the process. To add injury to insult, I never got my book back either.

*hugs* Seems like some productive years at least. Tierp is... well, it is at least. =)

As long as life isn't emotionless and flat, it's life. I appreciate that, even when the road of life forks in unwanted directions. Funny thing, life. I would never have been able to think it up myself. Too weird. Well, that's life.
