Gah.
I reseated the RAM to get rid of the three error beeps. Result: iMac shuts down after ten seconds. So, back to square one... I have called a repair firm that will try the "disconnecting the picture tube, connecting an external VGA monitor, and flashing the BootROM" trick before they replace the motherboard, and they will only charge around 500 SEK for it. If it doesn't work, I will probably have to find a similar "new" iMac. I expect to have to pay somewhere around 1500-2000 SEK for that. Goddamn. But since I was the one who fucked up, I think it's my responsibility to get things working again... :-P
