Two or three months ago I bought an LP with excerpts from Die Dreigroschenoper at a second hand shop, but I never got around to listening to it. Tonight, feeling for a bit of Brecht/Weill, I finally put it on. Only, instead of Wolfgang Neuss singing "Moritat von Mackie Messer", I got this.

Don't get me wrong; I have been an ABBA fan since 1978, long before I could speak English, but even with my love for contrasts and paradoxes this was a bit different from what I expected. Oh well, I still have other recordings (including one with Nina Hagen as Frau Peachum).

I have digitized my vinyl. I can let you have the mp3s if you want. Also, Robert Brown has the CD.

This sort of thing can be quite disappointing.
