Spent last night mucking around inside the PC, installing a cheap graphics card (to hopefully offload the CPU a bit, as I've been running on the built-in graphics since I got the machine) and a 200GB Maxtor hard disk that has been lying on my desk for two months. Maybe I ought to get a faster CPU next, or more memory as soon as I find out what type it uses. (I really should write those things down.) What I really should do, though, is to get rid of some of the bloody dust inside.
I will probably move the 120GB HD to the Linux machine, too. I think it's the old 30GB HD that's making that bloody racket in it. And then — well, the iMac could do with something bigger, so maybe the 20GB could go into that one, and then I have a 40GB to spare, which I have half promised to
darnia already. I need a 1-2 GB SCSI-2 disk as well for the old Power Mac, but they don't make 'em anymore... :-/
