15. Lois McMaster Bujold: Miles, Mystery and Mayhem (2001; omnibus edition containing Cetaganda (1996), Ethan of Athos (1986), and "Labyrinth" (1988))

As I said, an omnibus edition with two novels and one novelette.

Cetaganda: Miles and his cousin Ivan are sent to Cetaganda, Barrayar's traditional enemy, to represent Barrayar at the Imperial funeral of the dowager Empress, and are targeted by a plot that is very bad news for both Empires.

Ethan of Athos: Athos is a planet with a problem. As an exclusively male planet founded by a religious sect, the only way to make babies is to grow them in uterine replicators; but after 200 years of service, the ovarian tissue cultures that are their only source of human eggs are dying of old age. Their shipment of dearly-paid-for new cultures has been replaced in transit by dead and animal tissues, and it falls on Dr. Ethan Urquhart, chief of reproductive biology for the Sevarin district, to leave the planet and bring back living ovaries. Something that terrifies him, as he will most likely have to deal with something he has never encountered before: women. And of course, the first woman he ever meets is Commander Elli Quinn of the Dendarii Free Mercenary Fleet, on a special mission from Admiral Naismith. And then things get really interesting for Ethan, as their respective missions start to overlap in new, unexpected and frightening ways...

"Labyrinth": Miles and the Dendarii Mercenaries are sent to Jackson's Whole to help a geneticist defect to Barrayar, and pick up much more than they bargained for in the process.
